KRISHNA JANMABHOOMI TEMPLE
Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple is located in Mathura near the railway station. The temple is one of the main attraction of the city in Uttar Pradesh and an important place of pilgrimage for the devotees of Hindu community.This Temple is distinguished as the place of birth of Lord Krishna. It is a popular belief that nearly 5000 years ago Lord Krishna was born in the prison of King Kansa in Mathura.
KANS QILA
Kans Qila is one of the historical monuments of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The ruin of this ancient fort is located on the northern bank of the Yamuna River. Due to improper maintenance, the fort is presently in a dilapidated condition. The Rajput General of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Raja Man Singh of Jaipur constructed the Kans Qila in Mathura. It believed that in between the years 1699 and1743, a keen astronomer Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur built a famous observatory here. But there is no trace of the monument at this site.
POTARA KUND
Potara Kund in Mathura is actually a water enclosed area and it is said that mother of Lord Krishna washed his clothes in the Kund. The Potara Kund is made up of huge sandstones and famous temples enclose the area. The stepped structure and the exclusive use of red sand stone in the Potara Kund attract the tourists to pay a visit to the holy site. RANGBHOOMI
Rangbhoomi has great economical significance as it was a part of the Mauryan Empire. According to the legend, Rangbhoomi is the wrestling area where Lord Krishna defeated and killed his maternal uncle Kansa and also freed his parents from the prison. Kansa had kept his sister and husband prisoners and he killed all their children but was unsuccessful in killing Krishna who was saved by his father, Basudev. The Vishram Ghat is close by and it is said that Lord Krishna took rest at this ghat after killing Kansa.
KUSUM SAROVAR
The water of the Sarovar is ideal for swimming so the travelers can spend some quality time here. Manas Sarovar has a number of ashrams and temples nearby and the travelers can attend the evening arti. Radha Kunj is also an important tourist attraction close by.

Mathura Museum is a government Museum located at a distance of 2.5 km from Mathura Junction Railway Station. It is an archaeological museum near the Dampier Park and is one of the best places to visit in Mathura. Founded by Sir F. S. Growse in 1874, it was initially called Curzon Museum of Archaeology. It was later renamed Archaeology Museum, before finally being named the Government Museum, Mathura.
